“What will happen on the day of the interview?”

The Living Memories team will join you at the location – usually but not necessarily the subject’s home – ready to film. Simon Garrett will be accompanied by a fulltime professional television cameraman. On some occasions there may be a third member of the crew to meet specialist lighting requirements but this will not usually be the case.

They will very quickly set up their equipment and go about putting you at your ease and preparing you for what should be a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable experience. There is no need for nerves because there are no trick questions, no right or wrong answers. The whole object of the exercise is to relate the stories which are important to you and your family.

“What happens to the interview when it is complete?”

The raw tapes or rushes will be taken away to be edited. This can involve using brief elements of a narrative voiceover or the whole programme may be suitable for running without explanation.

During this process the pictures will be added, any slips or repetitions or false starts seamlessly removed so that the finished item will be clear and elegant and for those who know the subject – compelling viewing.

The finished programme, which will run usually from an hour to an hour and a half, will be duplicated and twelve copies provided for home use attractively boxed and packaged.
